A chapter in Digitalization, 2021, pp 371-380 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter develops an integrated approach for digital implementation. Our research is based on existing approaches on digital strategy and digital implementation. Our findings show that the existing theories on digital implementation are insufficient. The chapter offers an integrated approach to the digital implementation that consists of our TOSC-Model and of our DPSEC-Circle. The TOSC-Model represents the most relevant dimensions of the digital implementation and stands for: Technology, Organization, Skills, and Culture. The DPSEC-Circle consists of five phases for the digital implementation: derive digital initiatives, prioritize digital initiatives, set up a digital agenda, execute digital agenda, and check/review digital results. This closes an existing research gap regarding digital implementation. The chapter offers findings for further research.
