Abstract In this chapter, we will discuss statistical principles. Statistics are data summaries based on numbers. You will learn principles for designing statistical studies and for summarizing the numbers you obtain. To be specific, we will discuss enumerative statistical studies, analytic statistical studies, statistical process control principles, and operational definitions.
