A chapter in Sustainable Aviation, 2022, pp 91-108 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Corporate strategy is about the capabilities companies develop to address shifts in the external business context, with the goal of outperforming peers in the marketplace. Corporate sustainability strategy embeds environmental and social goals into corporate strategy. To mitigate climate change, companies need to rethink both the business in which they operate, and the underlying business model. The aviation industry faces existential threat and reputation, regulatory, financial, and operational risks in the context of climate change. However, there are also many business opportunities in aviation, to transform businesses towards sustainability and gain competitive advantage through pioneering action. Corporate leaders are an essential part of driving sustainability transformation in aviation.
