Purchasing and Supplier Roles

Timothy Adesanya Ibidapo ()

Chapter 13 in From Industry 4.0 to Quality 4.0, 2022, pp 293-307 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Purchasing and the entire supply chain is a very critical aspect of any quality system of any organization hence the need for its effective and efficient management. The impact of the supply chain can make or mar the quality of your product as well as the level of satisfaction of your customers. The reason here is pretty clear particularly because purchasing fully encompasses what is defined by the ISO as “externally provided processes, products and services.” This is provided by the ISO (2015) in Clause 8.4 of ISO 9001:2015 with its equivalent in subclause 7.4.1. of ISO 9001:2008.
