Abstract Navigating the historical development of quality, from real-world applications and experiences in global industrial production systems and project developmental stages, to how we now know, use, and apply quality in the present age, most certainly reveals its gradual evolution from quality control, through quality assurance, to (total) quality management (T)QM and then quality management system (QMS), as shown in Table 20.1.
