Chapter 17 in The Neurology of Business, 2022, pp 247-269 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract The Viable System Model (VSM) enables identifying the neuralgic points in an enterprise’s control and communication system without lengthy analyses and within a very short time. The neurology of the enterprise is closely related to its anatomy. If we know the anatomy, the VSM enables us to immediately infer the challenges and difficulties in the enterprise’s neurology. Conversely, for certain neurological symptoms, we can very precisely locate the causes in the anatomy. Such quick diagnoses are made by recognizing patterns—just as a chess player playing several opponents simultaneously recognizes the pattern of a particular game within a few seconds and examines his or her options. In practice, certain pathological patterns recur more often than others. Seven of these are discussed in this chapter.
