Abstract: Abstract This chapter introduces the well-known gap between theory and practice in data-driven project management. It explains why a 300+ page book can help explain why computer algorithms and human intuition are useful for project management decision making. It introduces the importance of project data for scientific research (the academic world) and business (the professional world).
