Abstract:
Abstract This chapter provides an overview of the general business environment in China, focusing on several critical aspects for foreign businesses seeking opportunities to operate in China. This includes the structure of the legal system which is similar to the continental European model, the business administration of foreign invested enterprises (FIEs), the mechanism of foreign exchange control as well as recommendations for negotiations in China and handling interpersonal relationships in terms of ‘关系 (guānxì)’ and ‘面子(miànzi)’.
