Chapter 8 in Business Opportunities and Risks in China, 2023, pp 91-108 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The enormous workforce at China’s domestic labour market is a critical factor for the country’s economic growth. This chapter provides an overview of the structure of the Chinese education system and analyses the capacity of its higher education and vocational training institutions, along with the current development of the demand of Chinese students to study abroad. To align with the demand of the labour market, the Chinese government increasingly takes measures to promote vocational training. I addition, the chapter sheds light on the minimum wage levels and provides a list of the popular recruitment websites in China.
