A chapter in Entrepreneurship in the Digital Era, 2023, pp 53-72 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract In order to identify success factors for enterprise transformation the current paper aims to derive insights from real-case examples of companies who already shaped transformation processes successfully. Therefore, a framework is being developed based on the theory of dynamic capabilities, the value chain, as well as the resource-based view of the firm. Subsequently the framework is being applied by carrying out a case study research of three real-case examples. The framework is designed to be applicable universally for examples of successful enterprise transformation regardless of the specific branch or type of value creation. The analysis of individual examples within the scope of this paper already revealed that patterns could possibly continue within the examples and that guiding principles could be derived across a bigger sample of cases. Further testing and application of the framework to a larger sample is needed to make reliable conclusions. The framework provides practitioners with a systematic, deliberate, and diligent approach to use insights already gained from practical experience for practical application.
