Abstract:
Abstract Emergent BioSolutions is a global life sciences company involved in providing innovative and responsive solutions for public health threats for nearly 25 years. Emergent BioSolutions manufactures a pipeline of innovative vaccines and therapeutics worldwide. Emergent was established as a private company with a single product and a single location. Over the years, Emergent has transformed itself into a flourishing global company. The portfolio of solutions provided by Emergent consists of a product portfolio, product development portfolio, and CDMO services portfolio. The public health threats addressed by Emergent can be categorized into five categories of (1) chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosives (CBRNE), (2) emerging infectious diseases (EID), (3) travel health, (4) public health crisis, and (5) acute, emergency, and community care. Emergent BioSolutions focuses on building leadership position in the management of public health threats by strengthening the portfolios of MCMs, travel health, and CDMO services. The company has undertaken a number of mergers and acquisition to expand into new markets and provide a differentiated R&D pipeline.
