Chapter 6 in A Comprehensive Project Management Guide, 2024, pp 109-130 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The chapter Project Organization subsequently explores the key components of project organization, including roles and responsibilities, communication channels, decision-making processes, and governance structures. It discusses the importance of establishing clear lines of authority, accountability, and communication to facilitate effective coordination and collaboration among project stakeholders. Moreover, it examines the influence of organizational culture, leadership style, and project management maturity on project organization and performance. It underscores the need for alignment between project goals and organizational priorities, as well as the cultivation of a supportive and adaptive project culture that encourages innovation, resilience, and teamwork. Project Organization deals with the interaction of people within a project or across multiple projects. The people are related to each other in the projects, take on different roles, and have different responsibilities and authority, to carry out their work within their work area.
