Abstract: Abstract Several prominent social issues strike at the heart of Chinese society and may threaten its very structure. As in many developing nations, concerns are dominated by monetary considerations and center around personal well-being, financial stability and base social coverage. Concerns also include a lack of judicial fairness, widespread bribery (Chap. 21 ), heavy censorship (Chap. 23 ), and limited freedom of speech. A 2013 survey ordered the biggest social concerns amongst the Chinese public as follows (Table 16.1).
