Abstract:
Abstract The People’s Republic of China (PRC) is divided under the Central Government into 22 provinces, 5 autonomous regions, and 4 direct-controlled municipalities. China also has two largely independent, self-governing Special Administrative Regions (SARs), Hong Kong and Macau. Even though the PRC claims Taiwan (Republic of China, ROC) as its 23rd province, Taiwan is actually a self-governing democracy that has never recognized the claim.
