Chapter Chapter 12 in Operational Logistics, 2016, pp 203-218 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The term logistic was defined and discussed in earlier chapters. It was shown to be a natural abstraction of an OpLog system. In Chap. 9 the logistic network model was defined and a visual version of that model – the VN model – was presented as a descriptive decision aid. The logistic network model was described as a multilevel tree where each level corresponds to a certain military echelon.
