Chapter 3 in Enterprise Engineering, 2016, pp 13-17 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract New paradigms don’t just fall from the sky. They are the result of different development in various areas, science being the most important one. The most famous example is that of Galileo; Galileo defended Copernicus’ theory that the Earth revolves around the Sun and is not the center of the universe. The new paradigm we will discuss in this chapter is maybe not as great, but does have substantial consequences for organizational science. But before discussing this new paradigm, we will first take a look at the three important scientific theories on which Enterprise Engineering is based.
