Abstract This chapter provides an overview of the importance and necessity of risk management especially with regard to Purchasing, our main topic. Readers shall learn to identify, evaluate, manage, and control risks with the aid of a systematic procedure. And last but not least, the essential urgency of risk-controlling measures is underlined with respect to supply relations: measures by which these risks can be reduced and managed preventively.
