Chapter Chapter 10 in The Timeless Principles of Successful Business Strategy, 2011, pp 73-82 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract In biology, the growth of an organism is a progressive increase in its size without loss of individuality or interruption of its functional activity. Growth is not always compulsory for a firm. Some of the oldest existing companies are medium sized and continue to prosper. On the other hand many sustainable businesses have acquired a dominant position in their industry, which is the fruit of their growth over time.
