A chapter in Understanding German Real Estate Markets, 2012, pp 3-17 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Market Information are essential for rational property investment decisions. This chapter outlines the range of available data on the property market provided by official sources as well as private enterprises. Data on prices and rents in Germany not only capture different segments of the market but also rely on different calculation methods. Therefore, investors have to check price developments carefully. Fundamental market indicators like the growth rate, the employment development and the demographic change are thus an important complement to price indicators.
