A chapter in Understanding German Real Estate Markets, 2012, pp 99-111 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract When evaluating real estate in Germany, German valuation experts often apply the German valuation standards. These conform to international valuation practice in many – but not all respects. In this chapter we will identify what is unusual about German valuation standards and introduce the German valuation methods: sales comparison approach, income approach and cost approach. As the main challenge for each valuation is the research, this chapter will also include information on where to find relevant market data.
