Abstract:
Abstract In a traditional deployment model the identity of a server depends on its hardware. Servers are unambiguously indentified by addresses like Media Access Control (MAC), Universally Unique Identifier (UUID), World Wide Node Names (WWNN), World Wide Port Names (WWPN), etc. defining together the “personality” of this server. Some of these elements can’t be changed. This makes it difficult to re-assign servers to other tasks in a cloud environment.
