A New Approach and Model for Organisational Governance

Chapter 1 in Enterprise Governance, 2014, pp 1-5 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Worldwide, the business landscape is littered with untold obstacles to high performance with the only certainty being continuous rapid change. Financial security is unpredictable; cash flow is tight; trends fluctuate; new markets develop; raw materials and commodities become scarce; customer preferences change; and with advances in technology new business models and competitors emerge. Some experts suggest the recent financial crisis can to some extent be attributed to failures and weaknesses in governance; it would seem there has never been greater pressure on boards to govern, and govern well.
