Influence of Digitalisation on Process Optimisation
Martin Hofmann ()
Chapter 5 in A Holistic Approach to Process Optimisation, 2021, pp 121-134 from Springer
Abstract:
Summary Digitalisation enables new, previously unimagined, innovative business models thanks to more direct and faster customer contacts and a larger amount of data. At the same time, however, this development also endangers previously successful companies. The life cycle of products and services is accelerating and the time to market is becoming increasingly crucial. This means that companies have to become faster and more flexible in developing new business ideas and new products. This development also leads to increasing customer demands and ever shorter reaction times, which makes improvement management more important.
