Chapter Chapter 4 in Doing Business in India, 2022, pp 37-53 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The chapter discusses the political scenario – history and present – in India and how it impacts business in the country. Historically, India has been a land of several kings and queens. On some occasions, strong kings or queens had integrated the land and the people with the feeling of ‘one nation’. These have been considered to be the golden ages in the history of India, however, some of the rulers were more concerned about filling their own coffers and treating the people cruelly.
