Chapter Chapter 13 in Warranty Chain Management, 2022, pp 327-346 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract After a product is sold by the seller to the customer, once there is abnormality or malfunction when the customer uses it, it usually will be returned to seller for warranty, or will be maintained and repaired by seller at the customer location. Owing to the uncertain reliability of the product, prolonged warranty time will be made due to insufficient repair technology or spare part of seller, damaging the rights and inte0rests of the customer. How can such condition be compensated? While pondering over such issue, no matter it’s of the form of lease or pay per use (usage-based pricing), how sellers ensure warranty operation time, how to ensure the normal operation of products, and how to use services to help company profit are all important subjects at the current state.
