Chapter Chapter 1 in Defining Enterprise Data and Analytics Strategy, 2022, pp 1-7 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Defining data and analytics strategy should be the starting point for any digital initiative in an enterprise. While most enterprises would agree to this point, many of them continue to struggle to define a holistic data and analytics strategy. Often, data and analytics leaders define a strategy that is focused primarily on technology and architecture. This leads to failure of a majority of data and analytics initiatives across enterprises. To define a holistic strategy, there are five key elements that needs to be defined—(a) business capabilities, (b) technology and architecture, (c) team, processes, and governance, (d) organizational change management, and (e) value measurement framework.
