Chapter 3 in TA-Q-BIN, 2015, pp 23-44 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This chapter will introduce what it takes for Yamato to develop a successful last-mile solution, TA-Q-BIN, in Japan. Yamato started the last-mile delivery by moving into the field of home delivery, which was once considered to be an unprofitable business. However, Yamato has since created unprecedented innovative services that have helped the company to achieve the highest customer satisfaction in the logistics industry. What kind of delivery service, then, makes its “receivers” happy? Why are Yamato’s drivers called “Sales Drivers”? We will illustrate key operations that support a sustainable and high quality TA-Q-BIN service.
