Does Sharing Economy Shape Consumers’ Attitudes?

Abstract: Abstract Sharing economy platforms have become very common in the last years and they have changed the way in which people consume, travel, and borrow among many other activities. Associated with sharing different goods, services among different organizations and customers have started to play an important role in today’s economic environment. According to that, the aim of this study is to investigate people’s motivations to participate in collaborative consumption in other words shed light to the attitudes and intentions of consumers about the collaborative ownership of products and services. Two focus groups were carried out with participants whose ages differ from 18 to 45. According to the results of this preliminary study, consumers’ perceived economic, environmental, and psychological benefits were found to shape their attitudes and intentions towards collaborative consumption.
