A chapter in Advances in National Brand and Private Label Marketing, 2024, pp 125-132 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract The beer market in Spain is currently characterized by high competition, mainly due to the wide variety of existing brands. Given the new consumer trends and the importance of the in-store assortment in retail management, this research analyses the evolution of the average size of the beer assortment over 10 years, from 2009 to 2019. The results show a shift in consumer habits towards premium products, which is reflected in the emergence of craft beer. While national brands have a stronger presence, private labels are expected to gain momentum in the coming years.
