A chapter in Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality, 2020, pp 37-50 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The advent of extended reality (XR) technologies is opening new doors for augmenting customer experience and enhancing sales processes. XR is promising not only for enhancing new product visualizations, and supporting sales processes by fostering discussions, but also for placing an emotional and tangible connect to future product designs. In this paper, state of the art and challenges of XR-based group product configuration for industrial applications are discussed. A solution concept and prototype for virtual and augmented reality is presented, with group configuration features for collaboration. Evaluation concepts and design insights are drawn out.
