Abstract: Abstract For better or worse, depending upon one’s point of view, there exists a strong and natural tie between the National Football League (NFL) and betting markets. Wagering on NFL games has become synonymous with Sundays and Monday nights during the fall throughout the USA. Millions of bettors, whether legally in Nevada, pseudolegally in offshore sportsbooks, or illegally through local outlets, find their way to betting windows, Internet connections, or phone calls to the town bookie to place their wagers on the weekly action in the NFL.
