Chapter Chapter 8 in Wine Queens, 2015, pp 43-45 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Very few wine queens own land, a vineyard, or agricultural machinery for the production of wine in the period of their sovereignty. In the absence of the autonomy of agricultural production and ownership of resources, such contests cannot bring any progress in any of these stages. Yet, some wine queens stay in the wine business after they give away the crown. In this sense they get a chance to contribute to the discipline and impart some hope that in a long term drinking culture might improve.
