Chapter Chapter 10 in Firing at Will, 2011, pp 119-126 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract One of the most difficult types of termination a company can face is the mass layoff. Employment lawyers call them reductions in force, or RIFs. In a down economy, layoffs become increasingly common. Obviously, they are devastating for the employees who lose their jobs. But they are also miserable for the managers and HR professionals who have to make the decisions.
