Hiring to Avoid Firing

Jay Shepherd

Chapter Chapter 17 in Firing at Will, 2011, pp 213-222 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract In the science-fiction classic The Terminator (1984), an artificially intelligent network of machines known as Skynet is under attack in 2029 from a human resistance group led by John Connor. To protect itself, Skynet sends a cyborg (Arnold Schwarzenegger) back in time to 1984 to assassinate Connor’s mother, Sarah (Linda Hamilton), before her son is born. You could say that Skynet has a very preventative program for dealing with troublesome resistance leaders.
