Chapter Chapter 16 in Lessons in Project Management, 2011, pp 67-70 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract As you saw earlier, issues are major problems that will impede the progress of a project—problems not totally within the ability of the project team to resolve. Every issue has cause(s) and every issue has effect(s) on the project. Some complex issues also have symptoms, which outwardly may look like a cause, but are not actually at the root-cause level. Symptoms are directly or indirectly related to the problem, but are not the cause of the problem itself. A symptom is actually more of an effect of the problem.
