Chapter Chapter 50 in Lessons in Project Management, 2011, pp 215-218 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract It has been said there are facts, lies, and then there are statistics. Statistics, or metrics, can be gathered on myriad combinations of project team and deliverable characteristics. For instance, you can collect metrics on the height of team members, the number of reporting errors, the daily high temperature in Dickens, and the cost of a project. Although there are dozens (or hundreds) of metrics you can gather, some of them are obviously more relevant and significant to the project than others.
