Chapter 4 in The Palgrave Handbook of Organizational Change Thinkers, 2021, pp 53-69 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The contribution of Linda Argote, the Thomas Lord Professor of Organizational Behavior and Theory at Carnegie Mellon University, to the field of organization science extends beyond her path-breaking and impactful scholarship to include her mentorship of colleagues and her leadership in building, expanding, and opening intellectual communities. In recognition of her contributions, Linda has been awarded two honorary doctorates (by Aarhus University and Universita della Svizzera Italiana), a lifetime achievement award (by INGRoup), three distinguished scholar awards (by the Strategic Management Society, the Organization and Management Theory Division of the Academy of Management, and the Technology Management Section of INFORMS), and four fellow designations (by the Academy of Management, Sydney Sussex College-University of Cambridge, INFORMS, and the Association for Psychological Science). Widely recognized as an impeccable scholar, she was selected to serve as the Editor-in-Chief of Organization Science from 2004 to 2010 and to serve as a decision editor at four journals (Academy of Management Annals, Journal of Organizational Design, Management Science, and Organization Science). And, for those of us who have had the exceedingly good fortune to call Linda Argote our colleague, mentor, and/or friend, we know that behind all of the accolades and distinguished career is a person who is as generous as she is ambitious, as thoughtful as she is talented, and as pluralistic as she is steadfast.
