Chapter 17 in The Palgrave Handbook of Disability at Work, 2020, pp 293-312 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter looks at the law relating to disability and the use of technology in the workplace. It gives an overview of how an increasingly technological world interacts with the social model of disability. It then examines both UK and international legal provisions that aim to achieve equality of access and their success or otherwise. It includes two case studies which highlight approaches to the use of technology by disabled people in the workplace, drawing upon these to make predictions for future developments.
