A chapter in The Palgrave Handbook of Servitization, 2021, pp 103-115 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Manufacturers commonly introduce new digital services to increase the scope of the value proposition and improve financial performance. Digital technologies like Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Big Data are often used to co-create value with customers, which raises the question of what a service business model built on digital technologies should look like. This chapter explores how the use of IoT, AI and Big Data influences business models and service provision.
