Abstract:
Abstract The scope and influence of servant leadership as a distinct field of theory, study, and practice has grown significantly from its prescient and humble roots in the writings of Robert Greenleaf (1977). The focus of this chapter is exploring the growth of servant leadership empirical research over a 17-year period from 2004 until 2021. The analysis will demonstrate an increasing global scope from its primarily United States-centric focus to the diverse multinational research stream of today. In addition to the servant leadership’s growth in terms of nations and regions, this chapter will summarize the breadth of servant leadership’s efficacy in promoting desirable empirical research outcomes in its multi-varied focus in terms of dependent, mediator, and moderator variable relationships with an overall favorable influence rate of 95.8%.
