Chapter Chapter 15 in The Palgrave Handbook of Critical Human Resource Development, 2023, pp 257-280 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract The purpose of this chapter is to provide a critical framework for developmental relationships as a mechanism for change in spaces of organizing and offer strategies for making them a sphere for promoting diversity, equity, justice, and inclusion. The chapter explores developmental relationships (DRs) in human resource development (HRD) as traditional, nontraditional, and virtual affiliations; critiques traditional DRs (TDRs) from feminist, critical, and intersectional perspectives; and reimagines DRs toward gender equity, social justice, and solidarity. The chapter concludes with an introduction of a model of critical feminist developmental relationships—CFDRs.
