Chapter Chapter 1 in The Evolution of Made in Italy, 2023, pp 1-3 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract The pandemic has greatly contributed to changing consumption habits by influencing people’s lifestyles and eating habits. The book examines the trends generated by the pandemic in the food and beverage (F&B) sector and illustrates how the F&B Made in Italy companies, typically characterized by a strong brand and an incomparable excellence in product quality, may increase their competitiveness by leveraging these trends. Particularly, the book analyses eight successful cases of Made in Italy companies operating in the F&B industry—IGOR Gorgonzola, Venchi, Calvisius Caviar, illycaffè, Ca’ Del Bosco, Nonino, Da Vittorio, Panino Giusto—and reports some key managerial lessons learnt, highlighting the potential next steps to increase the competitiveness of this industry, a true pillar of the Italian economy.
