Chapter Chapter 4 in The Evolution of Made in Italy, 2023, pp 27-38 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract IGOR Gorgonzola is an exceptional example of how tradition and innovation create a winning success in Made in Italy businesses and products. With a clear focus on quality and innovation, the Leonardi family built a business that exported the culture of Italian gorgonzola worldwide and became the most important producer of gorgonzola worldwide by focusing on four key values: passion, commitment, tradition and innovation. Nominated as one of the 30 best companies in the food and beverage sector in Italy by Centro Studi Economici, IGOR Gorgonzola captures 52% of the global gorgonzola market share, and exports 50% of their total production to 32 different countries. They employ 180 local farms in Piedmont and Lombardy to source local milk and employ 1000 families in their state-of-the-art production sites, with innovative and independently designed production technologies, for a total of 2.5 million wheels produced per year.
