Chapter Chapter 9 in The Evolution of Made in Italy, 2023, pp 87-97 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Founded in 1897 by Orazio Nonino, Grappa holds a special journey thanks to this family. Once considered an unrefined and poor distillate, the Nonino family not only transformed the image of Grappa in the world, but they truly cultivated the craftsmanship and heritage of this distillate, by preserving tradition, focusing on quality when most only rushed for volumes, and telling a story of what grappa is, and more importantly, what it can become by continuously evolving through generations. Today the family company has a portfolio that includes over twenty types of grappa, and is headed by Cristina, Antonella and Elisabetta, the three daughters of Benito and Giannola, reaching in 2021 a turnover of almost 17 million euros, and more importantly, worldwide status of the most important grappa producers in the world.
