A chapter in Human-Centered Service Design for Healthcare Transformation, 2023, pp 73-86 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Human-centred service design is committed to considering the experiences of those affected by existing or future services. This consideration is a meaningful yet overwhelming responsibility. Critical service designers are not only equipped with a rich toolbox, including participatory principles, methods, tools and research ethics, but also committed to transgressing social and cultural norms through critical theory. However, the intention to reflect all people’s experiences is often hard to realize. In this article, we present an exploration of intersectionality as a framework that can enable the enhancement of seldom-heard perspectives in human-centred service design for health and social care transformation.
