Chapter Chapter 4 in Charting Change, 2023, pp 47-62 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Whether we want to admit it or not, there is a benefit to everything we do. This is why a pattern of behavior becomes the status quo. There is a benefit for continuing the behavior. But there is always some kind of pain, discomfort, or inconvenience involved with making a change. Sometimes we call the reluctance to change inertia, or in the case of companies, charities, and governments we call it organizational inertia.
