Abstract:
Abstract In 2021, Airbnb conducted a survey of 87,070 listings and 97,898 guests to understand their hosts and guests in Malaysia better (“Airbnb survey of Hosts and guests,” June 2022, https://news.airbnb.com/ms/airbnb-survey-of-hosts-and-guests/ ). From the survey, they uncovered interesting insights on how the hosts perceive income from hosting, and the customer preferences considering the pandemic-induced changes. Among many things, the study found that approximately half of the hosts surveyed said the money they earned from hosting helped deal with the rising costs of living and perceived this as a way to earn money to grow their business.
