Abstract:
Abstract This chapter investigates the impact of remote working on employee wellbeing in Egypt. The chapter is divided into five parts. First, it introduces Egypt’s business context and workplace culture with a description of Egypt’s digital transformation strategy and its impact on organisations ability to work remotely. Second, it examines how the COVID-19 pandemic influenced a remote working culture in Egypt. Third, it discusses previous practical and empirical studies’ findings to highlight the benefits and challenges of remote working in Egypt. Fourth, it offers guidance for human resource managers and practitioners on how to effectively implement HR policies and practices conducive to remote work environments. Finally, the chapter highlights the future of remote working in improving not only employees’ wellbeing but also organisational effectiveness towards achieving the future of “Digital Egypt”.
