Chapter Chapter 1 in The Leadership Spectrum, 2025, pp 1-14 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This introduction introduces the reader to the problem of the poor relationship between bosses and their subordinates. While employees leave bosses rather than organizations, the turnover cost of destructive and abusive supervision is enormous. Yet most leadership books research good leaders rather than bad ones. This leadership book looks at leaders along a spectrum of behaviors from bad leaders to great leaders, with uncivil leaders in the middle. Unlike other leadership books, empathy of the leader is the distinguishing variable. The introduction describes the structure of the book.
