Chapter Chapter 28 in Sustainable Digital Marketing for Fashion and Luxury Brands, 2025, pp 675-697 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract As global demand for sustainability rises, textile companies are pressured into adopting eco-friendly practices and enhancing their accountability for environmental and social impacts. This chapter explores the integration of certified management systems (MS) in fostering sustainable supply chain management within the textile industry. Certified MSs, such as ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, play a vital role in improving process efficiency, product quality, and environmental performance. Additionally, ecolabels like the EU Ecolabel and Global Organic Textile Standard build consumer trust by certifying compliance with stringent environmental standards. Applying digital solutions, including blockchain technology, further supports traceability and transparency in supply chains. Furthermore, the chapter examines the importance of aligning production processes with circular economy principles to reduce environmental impacts and promote sustainable practices in the textile sector.
